AYO hello everyone! Long time no see!
Last week was my Spring Break, and I decided it was time to get back into the swing of things. As much as I adore my roommates and best friends here at school, we definitely encourage lazy behavior when we’re together (which is 97% of the time). Therefore, I completely fell out of the routine that saved me last spring when I was feeling down. I stopped trying with my appearance and, with that, I stopped maintaining this blog. This definitely affected my self-confidence significantly. Over my break, I realized that I needed to work on building myself up again. The journey to complete self-love and acceptance is never-ending, and I can’t slack or my mental health suffers.
So here’s to living a happier and healthier life.
So how about this ADORABLE dress, eh? I love it’s faded/worn look, and it’s in my trusty, go-to silhouette. It’s a super flattering cut and pattern, and I feel HELLA cute in it. I threw on a light, cream cardigan to complete the look and add some warmth. Also it looks pretty schnazzy wrapped around my waist. I paired these pieces with my trusty black leggings and black combat boots, folded down for extra flair.
What I Wore:
Leggings: Forever 21+
Alrighty, that’s all for now. Hopefully you’ll be seeing more from me on this darn blog soon!
Hey y’all! It’s definitely feeling like fall outside, and I am LOVING IT. After the uber hot and gross weather we had those first few weeks of the semester, I was dying to get myself into some cute sweaters/leggings/scarves/boots/lipsticks! (I’m really passionate about fall fashion.) Now that the weather has finally cooled down. I’m taking advantage. Of course it still warms up too much by midday, and I end up pushing up my sleeves in a huff, but I refuse to stop dressing so cute!
Today my friends and I decided to all wear maroon pants just for shits and giggles. Now, I really don’t like how my maroon pants fit, so I cheated and wore my new maroon leggings instead. #ohwell. (Note that the leggings look more red toned in person than they do in the pic. I really dont like plummy maroons.)
What I Wore:
Sweater: Forever 21+
Leggings: Forever 21+
Combat Boots: Payless
Lipstick: Rimmel in Bordeaux 124
This sweater is just so stinkin cute! When I saw this online last season I absolutely HAD to have it. I am a hardcore cat person, and this just spoke to me. Also it’s super long and cozy, and it’s also not too thick or thin of a material. Basically, this sweater is purrfection.
When I was planning this outfit in my head, I knew I had to pull out one of my favorite fall lipsticks from Rimmel. I only wish it were a matte finish instead of cream, but with a few rounds of blotting it stays put. For some reason, I find it really hard to find good deep red lipsticks. Berries and plums are super prevalent, but a dark brick red alludes me. It’s one of my goals to find the perfect fall red this season. If you have any suggestions please let me know!
Well that’s it for this post. Thanks for reading! I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful weather!
P.S. More roommate love.
Hey y’all! The fashion posts are officially back! I am so passionately in love with this dress that I had to make a post immediately.
So obviously, I’ve been pretty absent from this blog. However, no apologies or excuses. Life happened; that’s it.
The title of today’s blog is brought to you by my obsession with Break Free by Zedd/Ariana Grande. I’m not a big fan of Ariana, but mostly anything by Zedd really gets me boogieing out of my seat.
Update on my life? Being captain is hard work. Getting tan basically happened over night. The side-braid is unsurprisingly omnipresent. The textbook buying process was significantly more difficult than semesters past. Using blogspot for blogging is excruciating (doing it for a class). I’m feeling more confident and fabulous that I ever have, thanks to my beautiful friends. Choreographing a sassy swing dance is so much fun. I’m genuinely interested in all of my classes this semester, no matter how frustrating they may be. On the first day my professor for Dinosaurs legit squatted on a chair in the front of the class and pretended to lay an egg. College, man.
Anyway, on to this beauteous dress.
What I Wore:
Dress: Forever 21+
Lips: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain – India
This dress is just so. flippin. cute! The box pleats are incredibly flattering, and teal and gray are my favorite colors to wear! When I saw this dress online, I knew I absolutely had to have it. It fits like a damn glove. The best part easily is that the teal isn’t just big ol’ polka dots; they’re actually speech bubbles!
This is just the perfect dress for me, and I’m so happy about it’s existence in my closet (or more currently: on my body.) I got so many nice compliments today, and yeah… I’m feeling good about it. Did ya notice?
Also this lippie is bomb. I’m all about that deepened radiant orchid color for this fall. Highly recommend.
P.S. Here’s a super cute pic of me and my roommate, Heather. She’s gorgeous and just as fabulous as I. I love her!
There’s been quite a lot of stress in my life as of the last week. For some reason my classes have taken off at an exponential pace and I am struggling to keep up. I’m taking a Writing for the Workplace class and it’s definitely geared towards upperclassmen. I have to write up my resume and I just don’t have much to put on it yet since high school is irrelevant and I’ve been out of it for a year. It’s very frustrating for me since I have to have it ready in two weeks for my mock interview with real employers. It’s just all very overwhelming.
So of course when the first of many thunderstorms rolled in last Thursday I went out in it and ran around for a good half hour. I do this every once and while and it feels. so. good. Running around barefoot in the pouring rain while thunder rumbles and lightning crashes across the sky is one of the best feelings ever to me. It felt amazing to just let go for even a little while.
Letting go and just letting it all happen is something I am so bad at. I let things wear me down until I can no longer take the burden and I crash. Hard. Sometimes I stay down for weeks and it affects my school work and health. I really am a bit of a perfectionist and I’m trying to cut down on the pressure I put on myself to get things just right. It usually ends up with me giving up and being disappointed in myself. It’s something I was going to work on this semester but it seems like I don’t even have time to settle into it at all, let alone better myself.
Hopefully I won’t let myself fall so low again this semester. Everyone has those days but I really want to work on a better self, and letting go and accepting is step one.
Dress: Walmart (for $2!)
Flats: Payless (not worn at time of thunderstorm)
Sorry for the lack of posts but I’ve been very busy with moving into school and getting all situated and settled. It’s been pretty much nonstop with band camp and classes since the 15th. I’m finally starting to find time to breathe.
This is what I wor,e to my third day of classes. I’ve been rocking the graphic tee and comfortable high waisted skirt combo basically since I’ve stepped foot on campus. It was gross and rainy all day today so comfy was definitely the first thing to come to mind. My hair did suffer today, but my outfit did not!
Loving the combat boots on a rainy day. Who says that I have to stuff my thick calves into tacky rainboots? These look good AND they do the job!
Yes, this is a Supernatural shirt. Gotta love some Winchesters on Hump Day!!!
And yes, that’s my roommate photobombing in the background.
What I wore:
Skirt: AsosCurve (On sale!)
Here have some plus size roommate love.
I have a life update post scheduled for tomorrow where I’m going to talk about the future of this blog while I’m at school and other general things about my life right now. Stay tuned!
