Hey y’all! It’s definitely feeling like fall outside, and I am LOVING IT. After the uber hot and gross weather we had those first few weeks of the semester, I was dying to get myself into some cute sweaters/leggings/scarves/boots/lipsticks! (I’m really passionate about fall fashion.) Now that the weather has finally cooled down. I’m taking advantage. Of course it still warms up too much by midday, and I end up pushing up my sleeves in a huff, but I refuse to stop dressing so cute!
Today my friends and I decided to all wear maroon pants just for shits and giggles. Now, I really don’t like how my maroon pants fit, so I cheated and wore my new maroon leggings instead. #ohwell. (Note that the leggings look more red toned in person than they do in the pic. I really dont like plummy maroons.)
What I Wore:
Sweater: Forever 21+
Leggings: Forever 21+
Combat Boots: Payless
Lipstick: Rimmel in Bordeaux 124
This sweater is just so stinkin cute! When I saw this online last season I absolutely HAD to have it. I am a hardcore cat person, and this just spoke to me. Also it’s super long and cozy, and it’s also not too thick or thin of a material. Basically, this sweater is purrfection.
When I was planning this outfit in my head, I knew I had to pull out one of my favorite fall lipsticks from Rimmel. I only wish it were a matte finish instead of cream, but with a few rounds of blotting it stays put. For some reason, I find it really hard to find good deep red lipsticks. Berries and plums are super prevalent, but a dark brick red alludes me. It’s one of my goals to find the perfect fall red this season. If you have any suggestions please let me know!
Well that’s it for this post. Thanks for reading! I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful weather!
P.S. More roommate love.
I love this simple knit green dress, and it’s in the perfect shade for St. Patty’s Day! However, just wearing a plain green dress can be a little boring for us fashion lovers, so here’s a couple of ways you could spice it up! They’re all pretty simple, since I’m a minimalist when it comes to my personal style, so just keep in mind that you could do even more to jazz up your holiday outfit!
The green dress is from Target and the leggings are from Forever 21+. Although I didn’t include shoes, I would recommend black combat boots or maybe some cute black and white saddle shoes!
If you want the green dress to really be the stand out piece, then try complimenting it with a simple but unique accessory. This is an antique pocket watch that I found online for super cheap. I love the super long chain, and it adds a little bit of vintage glam to any outfit!
Dress it Down
This is how I chose to wear the dress a little while ago. I like wearing loose, comfy button downs over my dresses to make them a bit more casual. This chambray shirt adds another color without competing with the vibrancy of the dress, and the rolled up sleeves give it a laid-back appearance. I really love this combo!
This is probably my favorite out of the three. I always love using my tops to remix dresses and add different aspects to my outfits. I picked this royal blue to play off the deepness of the green. The two primary colors compliment each other perfectly. If you were feeling especially vibrant, you could keep the primary colorblocking look going by wearing red or yellow shoes!
These are just a couple of quick ways you can mix up your St.Patty’s day look. I’m pretty sure this dress can still be found in store at Target, so try to snatch it up if you can! It’s a perfect addition to anyone’s wardrobe.
Which look is your favorite?
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
What does the fox say? “You’re looking hot today!”
Anyway, I didn’t actually go anywhere today, but I had this outfit in my mind and wanted to throw it on for shits and giggles. I like the way it came out! This dress was a christmas gift so I hadn’t really styled it yet. I thought it was going to be one of those times where I plan an outfit out mentally, and then am super disappointed by how it doesn’t actually work in person. That sucks, but this outfit did not!
What I Wore:
Sweater: Old Navy
Dress: Forever 21+
Black Leggings: Forever 21+
Saddle Shoes: Payless
Lipstick: Wet n Wild in Sugar Plum Fairy
(I didn’t picture the shoes because I wasn’t actually going outside, but those are what I would’ve worn!)
Hard to believe that in a couple of days it’s going to be 2014! I’ve had a hell of a year. I’m hoping that this year has something good and exciting in store! How has your year been? Are you excited for 2014?
On Tuesday my roommates and I went to a local fall festival to pick some pumpkins! This is what I wore. The weather had finally cooled down so I could wear some booties and a sweater.
What I wore:
Sweater: Lane Bryant
Skinnies: Forever 21+
Pumpkin: Grim’s Fall Festival
I apologize for not posting too much lately. Life’s been moving faster than I can keep up. And I’ve decided that I need to keep myself in check before I go posting on the internet. Also, my apartment’s internet connection has been going in and out anyways so on Tuesday when I was going to post this I couldn’t.
Hope you’re having a great autumn so far!
Today I had my mock interview for my Writing for the Workplace class. It was just a general interview conducted by a random employer from around the area so students can gain experience in the interviewing process. I OWNED that interview. She loved my personality and thought I was well-spoken, passionate, and enthusiastic. Not only did I sound good, but I looked good too!
I definitely stressed over my outfit. I felt like the length wasn’t long enough and that I wasn’t professional enough. But I really wanted my personal style to come out in my outfit, and this was what I really wanted to wear. I bought this blazer for the purpose of this interview, but personally I’ve wanted one for quite a while now so it was about time I added one to my wardrobe. And this color is absolutely gorgeous. The fit is perfect for me and it is the most comfortable thing ever.
What I Wore:
Shoes: Gifted (Similar)
Lipstick: Wet N Wild Megalast in Sugar Plum Fairy and Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet
Nails: Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Barefoot Beige
You all know I love a nice berry lip, and with this blazer I had no choice but to whip it out. I actually only wore the lip butter for the interview for some subdued color but then after I wore the lipstick with a little bit of the lip butter on top.
Also, let’s talk about this nail color. I wanted some polish on my nails but I knew it couldn’t be too over the top. And lo and behold I stumbled across this nude beauty.
Anyway, I’ve been having a REALLY good day and I’m finally feeling optimistic about my future. Too bad this week is going to be super hectic and stressful and this pleasant mood is going to drain right out. Ah well.
P.S. Bonus photo with the roommate.
It’s starting to get dark so early now! I guess I need to get my pictures done sooner in the day, haha.
The beginning of fall is starting to creep in, and with it is coming my better mood. I performed with the marching band and my colorguard this past weekend, and I’ve been riding a wave of good feelings since. I’m hoping the good mood sticks around just as long as the cooler weather.
I love fall SO much. It’s by far my absolute favorite season. I love the holidays, the fashion, the makeup, the crisp air, the changing leaves, the tv shows, the warm drinks, EVERYTHING. Today was finally cold enough for a more autumn-esque outfit with skinnies, a sweater, and a beanie. AND NOT TO MENTION MY NEW DARK LIPSTICK! (I may or may not be in love with dark lips).
What I wore:
Sweater – Kmart
Beanie – 5 Below (I think?)
Shoes (Not Pictured) – Converse
Lipstick!!! – Rimmel Lasting Finish in 124 Bordeaux
Anyway I’ve been having a few good days, and today I wanted to wear some bold lipstick and a hat so I did. And I felt pretty good. Also isn’t the lace on this sweater awesome?
Thursday was a very low point for me and since Friday I’ve been going nowhere but up. I hope this trend keeps going. Hope you guys have a good week as well!
